the sixth nexus: google's nexus 6

now that we have two quasi nexus 5 devices (samsung "galaxy s4" and "htc one" pure android handsets) on the way and, outside of the still expected actual nexus 5 (complete with the now expected lower price point) and presumably including android 5 - key lime pie, i find myself less focused on the next official nexus 5 handset, and outright wishing for the nexus 6 

but will the nexus 6 include a voice oriented mobile phone, or follow the slate based approach of the highly successful nexus 7?  personally i am hoping for the latter so that i can continue to skip the cost of the cellular radio and enjoy a design more focused on the highest definition resolution possible, the best performing 8-core processor, an excellent pair of front and rear facing cameras, and of course plenty of memory, both fixed and expandable

mobile media consumption and rich social interactivity

i've observed something quite interesting with the first generation nexus 7...  while the slate is a certifiable hit, most people seem content to leave their n7s at home next to the sofa, something i never do!  to my surprise i see very few nexus 7 devices in the wild...  now admittedly, while the device is a tight fit in the pants, it indeed is pocketable, and worth taking along! 

but there is no doubt the nexus 6 will be even more so, combining a generously large and practical mobile screen size with a sleek and sexy micro-bezel form factor that most should be comfortable slipping into jeans or a small bag...  clearly samsung is going for this with their galaxy 'mega' 6.3, but it falls short in the display and specs departments, instead including a cellular radio, thereby boosting the cost of the device, which in my view is a bad trade off

the soon to be realized sweet spot for on-the-go media consumption, email, photo/video capture, navigation, social interaction and general internet connection satisfaction, will be google's nexus 6

and i can't wait!
